The First Picture of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
The first photo of Gal Gadot as the iconic DC Comics superhero Wonder Woman has been revealed, here’s a reaction about it

So the big recent geek news has come from San Diego Comic Con. That’s where most geeky news comes from.
Whereas political news comes out of Washington, DC with big speeches, meetings and hearings that reporters cover and stories that could possibly have worldwide repercussions, geeks have their Comic Con that will fuel passionate reactions, discussions and opinions on things that will make or break their favorite fictional universes and turn their worlds upside down.
It’s pretty nutty when you look at it from that perspective.
Anyway, the world got its first look at Gal Gadot and how her Wonder Woman will be looking in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and inevitably future films down the line. I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up tinkering with the look in some spots in subsequent movies, sorta like how Batman always gets some tweaks with his costume in every movie he’s in. But here she is fans – Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman!
Ummmm…..neat huh?
I wasn’t even going to bother writing about this, but I’ve been asked about my thoughts about it. And unfortunately I don’t have much to say. I saw this picture, took a look, thought ‘OK’ and moved on. So my reaction to it is quite muted.
I mean I could ask why does it look like she’s standing near an exploding volcano, but really who cares. They thought it would make it look much more dynamic rather than her standing in front of an office desk.
Fans seem to be split with what they see. Some like it, others don’t. That’s not surprising. It’s what always happens with this kind of stuff.
The hardcore fervent positive reactions by some tend to make me suspect they’re just fans getting caught up in the excitement and buzz of the whole buildup to this movie and are ready to applaud any news about it. It’s the cynic in me.
While others complaining this Wonder Woman costume looks too Xena-esque has me asking, “Well what did they expect?”. No one was really thinking Gadot would be sporting the bright red, white and blue costume Lynda Carter was wearing were they?
It’s darker colors (or color – I can’t tell if there’s any variety of colors in this outfit. It all looks pretty brown to me) is the popular thing with superhero costumes nowadays. You gotta make them darker, tougher looking, try to make them more realistic. It’s exactly what Zack Snyder did with his Superman in Man of Steel, so it had to be done with Wonder Woman as well if she’s going to be appearing in his world.
I’ll go out on a limb and predict we won’t see one shade of yellow in this flick.
For a big Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman movie I feel like I should catch some of this excitement that the filmmakers are trying really hard to create and succeeding unbelievably well.
However, I just haven’t been infected with any of it yet. Maybe it’s because it’s still nearly two years away and that this movie’s main driving force was to capitalize on the success of The Avengers. Come on, we all know if The Avengers had never been made and pulled in so much money this movie would never be happening. Plus, no matter what I see or hear about this movie I know it’s going to be using Man of Steel as its foundation and if this new flick is anything like that movie…..
It’s all just too shaky for me to get psyched about yet.
I'm not holding my breath for Batman vs Superman. Not when Nolan's Bat flicks are still so fresh in my mind. But Wonder Woman looks frinking hot.
What is it with some Israeli women? Natalie Portman, Ayelet Zurer (Superman's mom in Man of Steel) and now Gadot, they are so fringing hot, shame about their politics though.
